The Belly Up Network

The machine behind every Belly Up city

Belly Up helps people find great restaurants, bars, and places to go, one city at a time. Local people do the real work: eating, talking to owners, taking photos, building relationships. We built the machine behind them, so they never have to become a web developer or an ad agency to do it.

How Belly Up actually works

  1. 1
A local person covers a neighborhood, not a whole city
They visit restaurants, talk to owners and staff, take real photos, and learn what makes each place worth knowing.
  2. 2
Belly Up runs the machine behind them
Hosting, the website, the search and AI discovery work, the data, the billing. None of that becomes the contributor's job.
  3. 3
Restaurants get found, contributors get paid
Restaurants pay for ongoing exposure and real reporting on what that exposure produced. Contributors share in it.

Where Belly Up already operates

Six cities are live right now, each with its own local team and its own roster of restaurants, bars, and neighborhoods.

If you've ever eaten a cold meal because you had to photograph it first, Belly Up might be for you.

That's really the whole hiring bar. Read why we built Belly Up this way, or go straight to what a contributor actually does.
